For Norlie Meimban, art is a living, breathing, moving entity. A talented craftsman with one-of-a-kind imagination, Meimban’s works are not only aesthetically pleasing but also intellectually stimulating. Coming up with different concepts and ideas to be applied for each work, he makes every exhibit, every collection and every piece truly unforgettable.

A graduate of Fine Arts at the University of the Philippines, the canvas has always been his irreplaceable passion. Meimban’s works have been recognized even in his early years, he was a three-time winner of Metrobank Foundation Art Competition and now stands for “network of winners” from Metrobank’s roster of past winners. He also won Juror’s Choice Award of GSIS Art Competition in 2009.

To date, Norlie has held countless group shows in Washington, California and New York. He also had Asian shows in Singapore, Malaysia and Hongkong and 16 solo exhibits in Pasig Museum, Rico Renzo, Boston Gallery and many other respectable art galleries. His forte consist of figurative works with color and monochrome with his favorite subject matter people, specifically children.

As he continues to hone and perfect his craft, he manages to come up with fresh innovative ideas to add more dimension to his painting, one of which is his “ani-motion” style, incorporating animation in painting. His “ani-motion” style manages to give us not only a picture but a picture across a span of time.
