Artist Profile :

A graduate of the University of Santo Tomas College of Architecture and Fine Arts, Augusto Ortega Santiago Jr. is one of the leaders of the art community that has a considerable contribution to the artists’ cultural exchange program between the Philippines and Malaysia. A master in figurative paintings, he is well versed in any medium that one can imagine, beautifully and carefully crafted his pieces with utmost details.

He captures not only the compositions but also the soul of the subject in front of him. He is also a well-grounded teacher of fine art, teaching artists during various events and exhibitions and demoing life sketches whenever he can. He is the recipient of the “Modern Impressionist Artist” Gold Awards for Culture and Arts in 1999. Exhibited his collections in Toronto, with the Philippine Artists Group of Canada. Also received the “Responsableng Serbisyo” Award for the promotion of our Culture and the Arts by Congressman Ricky Sandoval, Philippines House of Representatives.
